 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Christian education is a lifelong process of learning, understanding, believing, and implementing lessons from Scripture into our lives. PYUMC offers Sunday classes as well as small groups at various times throughout the week. You are never too old to participate in Christian Education - whether it be as a student, teacher, helper, youth assistant, small group facilitator, or simply a listener. We welcome you to find your niche!

  • Children

Children's Sunday School runs from September through May; Sunday School registration forms are available by clicking HERE and in the church office.  Also, click HERE for a "Photo Permission Form", which grants us permission to take your child's photo/video or use your child's photo/video for United Methodist Church purposes only.

This year, school age students will be attending the first part of our Sunday Break service at 8:45 am, with this beginning time focused on worshipping together as a family. Children may sit with a family member or a familiar adult and, at 9:00 am, they will be released to an adult who will guide them to their respective classroom in the education wing. Classes will be dismissed at 10:00 am, allowing parents time for coffee and fellowship.

The Penn Yan Area Churches is sponsoring a four-day Vacation Bible School adventure on February 21, 22, 23, and 24 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm for children Pre-K thru 4th grade.  Breakfast & lunch will be provided.  Please contact Linda Snyder at 536-8844 for more information and registration forms or to volunteer your time to this wonderful experience.  You may also download a registration form by clicking HERE.

  • Youth

Saturday Night Alive - Every Saturday night, 5:00-7:00 pm, for youth in grades 5 through 8.

With our new worship schedule, you may also find that the time is right to start attending or facilitating a Bible study. We have some adults who are already prepared to lead. If you would like to discuss a particular topic or there is a book in the Bible you would like to study, let us know.  Do you read “The Upper Room”?  Are you interested in discussing further some of the devotions in this guide? This might be a great place to start. There are also a number of small groups taking place during the week, offering a selection of Christian topics. Check your Sunday bulletin and announcements for more details. Again, we welcome you!
